TennCare Members Will Not Experience an Impact from Work or Community Engagement Requirements

Beginning in 2027, Federal law requires some Medicaid members to meet work or community engagement requirements.  Community engagement means working, going to school, volunteering, or participating in certain jobs training programs. In Tennessee, this only applies to a small number of people. If you are one of them, you automatically meet the work or community engagement requirements based on the income information that TennCare has on file. You should continue to respond to all TennCare requests for information as part of the application or renewal process. You should also continue to report any changes in your household or income to TennCare during the year.
